Mother Lode Gardens 2015

August 16 2015

Blueberry Hashplant is from Bodhi. It’s Blue Dream x G13/Hashplant. Next year my garden will probably be mostly Ancient OG and BB Hashplant.

It was about 105 here today. I didn’t do shit, just slept all day under the swamp cooler But now I will be up all night, oh well.

I’ve decided to hand trim this year, although I might just do half the harvest and then bin up the rest for spring. Maybe buy a trimmer after I sell a few units, but not sure yet, because I haven’t done the research. Anyway, I really like my crew. We still need a couple more though.

Walking through the garden at night is one of my favorite things to do at this time of the year. The energy of the plants is more perceptible at night and is extremely potent at this time in the season, the peak of their existence. The days are cooling down a bit and summer is slowly slipping away. Harvest is on the horizon and then the short cold days of winter. To me the garden is already dead, chopped dried trimmed and sold. Half of me wishes that were really true.

The next few weeks are mostly a waiting game. Will it be a bumper crop, or will caterpillars, mildew and mold take a hefty toll? Will harvest coincide with what scientists are calling a “Godzilla” El Nino storm? Not much left to do but put up more trellis and clean out the drying room. At this point in the game I surrender to the universe, and ask that my fate be merciful.

In the dog days of summer I like to think about plans for next season. Every day in the year has its own purpose, and each new year builds upon the last. It is important to make improvements with each cycle. I have started to establish a work-flow in my garden but random variables make it difficult to formulate a perfect strategy.

I’ve also been researching concentrates a bit. Not sure if I want to make my own concentrates this year or just contract it out due to California’s legalities.

Due to these legalities I won’t run BHO, but I know folks who do, and am tempted to just give all my material to them and be done with it. Or…. there are a few methods which seem like they would be fun to try, like dry sift and rosin. Bubble hash seems like more work, but who knows.

Anyway enough rambling. I should be asleep but took a long nap today. My back feels much better now, so I might even try to be social this weekend. Met an ICMag site member who lives less than a hour away so I can make the drive to check out his grow and shoot the shit. And there’s a lady who wants to come visit me I think…

Just got a compliance check, three sheriffs. Fuckin’ scary shit. I do not like dealing with police, apparently I passed though.

They actually did look in the pots and count the stalks. They were tripping because they said I have three plants per pot, but I told them it was just one plant that I buried really deep early in the season, so now it has multiple main branches. showed them some of the single-planted monsters and told them those were not buried as deep which is why you can see the single main stalk. They were impressed, shook my hand and said I have the biggest plants they’ve ever seen and what’s my secret…?

Trippy.

Hope they don’t come back.

Started chop on a few early finishers, plus a couple stragglers that were starting to attract PM. They shouldn’t have even been in the garden, but I didn’t have any replacements. Next year I will start more seeds so I can yank the stragglers early in the season and replace them.

No dew here. Some PM starting to show up though on the north side of a few plants. Today I sprayed them with neem oil, which removes the PM for a while but you have to get complete coverage. I also tried some Greencure on a few branches… It removed the PM but also burned the hairs on the buds. I may have used too much, I used about two tablespoons Greencure per gallon of water. Anyone using that stuff, does it burn your hairs? If not then how much do you use?

Just finished the first wave of harvest, super early finishers. A couple Blueberry Hashplants, and a Stardawg x Goji. The stuff we chopped 3 days ago is already almost dry. It will be trimmed and sold asap, and then the second wave of harvest will begin around October 1. Most of the garden is still swelling, but I expect to have everything down by October 15.

As you can see we have amazing sunsets and sunrises at Mother Lode Gardens!

Love Triangle is very sweet smelling, like berries, with hints of honey, cream and baby powder, and kush.

October 7 Harvest Time

Thanks for reading. I don’t mind sharing. I try to have very little ego in this game, it serves no purpose other than to alienate those who matter and impress those who don’t.  Lots of psychedelics help, martial arts too.

re: Bodhi’s Blueberry Hashplant. It leans heavily toward Blue Dream, but seems to be finishing slightly earlier than a blue dream clone would. Seed vigor makes it an outdoor grower’s best friend. Six seeds all produced very similar blueberry-smelling herb, not much variation. Seems good for seed gardens when a uniform product is desired. I just picked up a couple more packs for next year.
